$10,000 In Hope Freedom Rings Foundation Scholarship
The In Hope Freedom Rings Foundation (IHFR) was created in 2005 to provide $10,000 scholarships to outstanding Fairfax County high school seniors based on academic excellence, financial need, extracurricular activities, and community service. Thanks to generous donations from our past sponsors, $70,000 in scholarships have already been awarded.
IHFR works with all 28 Fairfax County High School career centers to disseminate information about the scholarships to graduating students. We have received applications from almost every Fairfax County public high school. A presentation ceremony and reception are held in January for the winners and sponsors. In attendance are the families of the winners, along with the school principal(s), counselors, and teachers from the recipients’ schools. Fairfax County Superintendent, Dr. Jack D.Dale, has presented the scholarships to the Winners for the past two years.
Applications for the 2009-2010 school year will be available online and in all FCPS career counseling centers starting in September 2009.
